Lyn Hejinian in conversation with Kate Fagan

Lyn Hejinian is a poet, essay writer, translator and previous Guggenheim Fellow who holds a chair in literature at the University of California Berkeley. Among her many published volumes of poetry are Oxota: A Short Russian Novel, The Book of a Thousand Eyes, A Border Comedy and her best-selling My Life. Her essays are collected in The Language of Inquiry; she edited the lastingly influential Poetics Journal with Barrett Watten and currently codirects Atelos Press with Travis Ortiz. She has been involved in numerous literary collaborations including Leningrad, The Grand Piano Series and The Wide Road. Lyn Hejinian is highly esteemed as a founding member of the Language School of Poetry.

Lyn Hejinian was in conversation with Kate Fagan who is a poet, musician and songwriter. Kate is a Lecturer in Literary Studies at the University of Western Sydney and a member of the Writing and Society Research Centre. Her most recent volume of poetry First Light (Giramondo 2012) was shortlisted for both the NSW Premier’s Award and the Age Book of the Year Award.
