Philip Mead

is inaugural Chair of Australian Literature and Director of the Westerly Centre at the University of Western Australia. In 2015-16 he is Gough Whitlam and Malcolm Fraser Visiting Professor of Australian Studies at Harvard University. Philip’s publications include Networked Language: Culture & History in Australian Poetry (Australian Scholarly Publishing, 2nd ed. 2010), “Hoax-Poetry and Inauthenticity,” The Routledge Companion to Experimental Literature (2012). In 1991 he co-edited the Penguin Book of Modern Australian Poetry (revised and reprinted several times) with John Tranter. He is a managing editor of the Journal of Poetics Research.
