is a contemporary Asian-Australian experimental poet, critic, and author of AXIS Book 1: Areal, the inaugural part of a lifelong long poem. AXIS has been described as an “experimental tour de force” and a long poem with”cosmic ambition.” Soon to come are some chapbook homages to Tehching Hsieh and On Kawara, as well as a critical book Stave Sightings: Notational Experiments in North American Long Poems, 1961-2011. carruthers is Essays Editor of Rabbit Poetry Review, incoming Reviews Editor of Southerly and makes SOd PressĀ with Amelia Dale. He holds a PhD from the University of Sydney.
